This weekend Bleenen, our spawn, and I attended Gulf Games 25. Gulf Games is a twice a year gathering of board game enthusiasts and their families.

Gulf Games 25 was a smaller gathering than normal, but it was still fun. I played a lot of new games and a couple of old ones:
- Roll through the Ages
- Ticket to Ride Europe
- Lost Cities the Board Game
- Bohnanza (The Bean Game)
- Einfac Genial
- Deduce or Die! (A great deduction game written by one of the Gulf Games regulars.)
- Day Lilly Rummy (Another custom rummy game produced by a Gulf Game member.)
- Pueblo
- Viva Pamploma
- Hop Hop Hooray (for my son)
- Memory Game (for my son)

Overall a great time. I am looking forward to going again next year (maybe twice)!!

That is so cool.

I went to a conference in 09 for Gaming and they had a few board game speakers. They raved about Ticket to Ride!

Thermos and I have been playing Arkham Horror on and off for the past year. It's a European style board game set in the Call of Cthulhu world. Lots of fun. I wish we had more people who were into board games in the area. They are way more fun with more people.

What games do you and Bleenen play Kindlen?

At home our favorites are:
- Settlers of Catan
- Don Pepe (Mobster game)
- Roborally

We are really getting into one called Stone Age. At the convention we came home with 5 new games for the collection, and will be introducing them to a number of our friends in the near future.

I have played Catan on the Xbox, really like the game. Lurak and I played a card game many moons ago called Illuminati, that was a lot of fun also.

I remember going to a D&D convention in Anaheim back in the mid-80's - was very intimidating/cool for a young kid. Lots of D&D, Gamma World, Boot World, Traveller and Star Craft. I had a ton of different games but everyone only wanted to play D&D. Some of the rpgs I had were - Conan the Barbarian, Ghostbusters, James Bond, DC Heroes, Marvel Superheroes, Indiana Jones, Twilight 2000, etc. Ahh, I was such a geek.
